Redcat Wins 2009 Award of Excellence
Outstanding Education Technology Products Saluted
Tech & Learning magazine selected the Redcat® all-in-one classroom audio system as one of the best education offerings of the past year.
Tech & Learning judges named the Award of Excellence winners after the completion of a rigorous 6 month evaluation and testing procedure. Criteria for inclusion in the competition included products with innovative applications that broke new ground as well as those that added significant enhancements to proven education tools. A panel of more than 30 educators, who tested more than 100 entries across the country, chose the winners.
Seal of Approval
This year’s awards have grown to include new hardware and network categories,” says Kevin Hogan, Editorial Director for NewBay Media’s Tech & Learning Group. “Our judges, which include stalwarts such as our resident expert Joe Huber and the staff of Philadelphia’s Science Leadership Academy, put dozens of entries through their paces. To come out with their seal of approval is a testament to the product.”
This was the first year hardware products were allowed into the contest. Among the high-quality offerings being honored were document cameras, visual presenters and student response systems. The Redcat was the only classroom audio system winner in Tech & Learning’s prestigious 27-year-old recognition program.
The Redcat classroom audio system is the number one ‘no install’ system in the industry with features and benefits that include:
- Infrared, no interference technology.
- Flat-panel Exciter speaker providing clear speech and exceptional audio distribution.
- Plug and play design eliminates installation costs associated with traditional ceiling speaker systems.
- Redmike® is the smallest and lightest pendent style IR microphone in the industry. Now available with built-in volume control for added teacher convenience.
- The new Infrared Media Connector option allows all classroom audio to be routed through the Redcat wirelessly
New Product winners of the 2009 Tech & Learning Awards of Excellence will be detailed in Tech & Learning’s December 2009 Awards Issue. Product descriptions and judges’ comments will also be included online at www.TechLearning.com.
